Gambling sites across the world must have mouths that are watering at the idea of another sexy scandal involving a semi-celebrity. This time the scandal involves newly crowned Miss New Jersey pageant winner Amy Polumbo.
The pretty new star supposedly released some photos on the website Facebook.com a few years ago and they are now coming back to haunt her. She received a letter earlier in the week saying that if she did not relinquish her pageant crown by today, the photos will be released to the world.
This is what has sportsbooks drooling. Currently there are no odds on whether Miss New Jersey will give up her crown in order to keep the photos private, but the lines are sure to come from sites like Bodog.com and Sportsbook.com, who regularly puts odds on celebrities doing things like this.
Former celebrity betting lines were if Britney Spears would divorce Kevin Federline, then she did. Other lines included if Paris Hilton would commit suicide while in a jail cell.
Ironically, Amy Polumbo has said that she will be promoting the Internet as a tool and a weapon, explaining the possibilities to America’s youths. She also said today that she will not be giving up her crown that she worked so hard for.
“It would certainly be easier for me to simply succumb to these unlawful and immoral threats, and quietly disappear,” she said Thursday.
The anonymous threat came in the form of a letter sent with the photos to the 22-year-old Howell High School graduate, her family members and pageant officials, said her attorney, Anthony R. Caruso of Archer and Greiner in Princeton.
